Nutrition Services

Welcome to the Nutrition Services Department. The department is comprised of three programs:

  • Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) which provides reimbursement to licensed family child care providers and trust line providers for nutritious meals served to children enrolled in their program. We cover Shasta, Tehama and Siskiyou Counties with this service.

  • Food Services (Kitchen Operations) provide daily breakfasts, lunches, and/or snacks to students who attend a variety of Shasta County Office of Education school/programs. We provide nutritious meals to preschool, alternative education, special education and afterschool children.

  • Network for a Healthy California provides nutrition and physical activity education to students, parents, providers and educators. We provide hands on activities and lessons for children and adults to promote knowledge for them to take charge of their health.

Each program has motivated, highly trained staff who value children of all ages and abilities. Our goal in the department is to provide support and resources to encourage positive healthy behaviors that will last a lifetime.
