Crisis Response Safety Crew
Safety Crew consists of a staff member from each department located on the Magnolia Site. The Crew operates under the command of the Risk Manager with the assistance of the Facilities, Maintenance and Operations Director and the assistance of the Facilities, Maintenance and Operations Project Coordinator..
During a crisis situation such as a lockdown or fire, the Safety Crew is responsible for gathering each department's staff, the department staff Emergency Medical Cards, and for assisting staff to a safe predesignated location.
Members are responsible for making sure that response protocol is followed, walkie-talkies are maintained, and for answering role call when contacted by the Superintendent or his/her designee during the incident.
Each member has been given a safety flip chart by the Safety Crew Commander that directs how the staff will respond during any number of crisis incidents. Crew Members are also given a walkie-talkie and training on what to do during the different types of incidents, and other safety information.
The Safety Crew Commander is in charge of setting drill times and practicing with staff in order to be ready in case of a crisis incident. Drills and practices are required by the Northern California Insurance Group JPA for insurance purposes. The Project Coordinator for Facilities, Maintenance, and Operations maintains the Keys and Maps to the facilities. The Commander maintains the list of members and their contact information and the rolling emergency medical and supply Kit.
