Centralized Eligibility List (CEL)

The Centralized Eligibility List (CEL) is designed as a "one stop" for families to be placed on the eligibility list for subsidized child care and development programs in Shasta County. All agencies operating subsidized early care and education programs may access the list.

What is subsidized Child Care?

Subsidized child care is assistance to families with lower incomes to cover part or all of their child care cost, depending on their financial need.

New eligibility requirements - as of July 1, 2008

Alternative Payment, Cal Works Stage II & III, Full Day Children Care Programs have new eligibility requirements. Please view the changes here.

How long is the wait?

The wait varies. Unfortunately it is not possible for us to give you an approximate time. Referrals are only made when funding becomes available or when there is an opening in a subsidized child care program. Referrals start with the lowest income, then continue until the funding runs out or the space becomes filled. Placement on the eligibility list is not a guarantee of services.
