Applying for the George Grotefend Scholarship

Eligibility

In order to be considered for this scholarship, students must have attended all four years of high school education in Shasta County. The scholarships are "scored" on an "as needed" basis, which means the students who need the money the most will have top priority in receiving a scholarship. The only way to find out if you can receive a scholarship is to apply. This scholarship is not automatic, meaning if you receive it the first year you are not ensured a scholarship for your second year. You must reapply each and every year.

How to Apply

If you are in High School:

Contact your High School Counselor. They will have the appropriate forms for you to fill out, as well as a list of other things you will need (references, etc...) for your application process. High School deadlines are several weeks prior to April 20th each year. Please check with your counselor for application deadlines.

If you are in Shasta College right now:

Contact the Shasta College financial aid department. They have the appropriate forms for you to fill out. You will need to turn the forms back in to them and check with them for their deadlines.

If you are out of High School and do not go to Shasta College:

If you are not in High School or Shasta College, you may get an application form from our office at 1644 Magnolia Avenue, Redding, California OR you can download the application form. The Application is an Adobe Acrobat PDF. The application deadline is: April 20, 2008.
