Requesting Funds for the George Grotefend Scholarship

The Grotefend Scholarship is made payable in two checks, one in the Fall Semester and one in the Spring Semester.

Provide the Following to receive your Scholarship

If you go to Shasta College:

You may receive your semester funds from the Shasta College Financial Aid Office after September 15th for the Fall Semester and after January 15th for the Spring Semester. Come with the following items:

  1. Proof of Registration
  2. Picture I.D.

If you go to any other school:

You may receive your funds through the George Grotefend Scholarship Board (after September 1st for the Fall Semester and after January 1st for the Spring Semester). You need to send the Board the following items:

  1. Proof of Registration
  2. Copy of Fall Semester's grades (for Spring Check only)
  3. New address, if any
  4. Deadline for Requesting Funds:

There is a deadline you cannot miss - April 20th. If you have been awarded a Grotefend Scholarship, you must request your funds before April 20th of the academic year for which your scholaship is awarded. (For Example, by April 20, 2007 for the 2006/07 School Year.) After April 20th our books are closed and balanced for the year and we no longer issue payments.

Please note: The Grotefend Scholarship Board does not send checks to educational institutions except Shasta College. The scholarship checks will be made out to the student and mailed to the last known address of the student. Please keep your address current with our office.
