What to do before contacting us

If you are experiencing a slow response from the application collect the following information before opening a case with the TAC.

For problems that can not be resolved using the Knowledge Base be prepared to answer the following questions when opening a case with the TAC:

Understanding Passwords

Passwords expire every 13 weeks (91 days) late on Wednesdays, beginning at about 5:00 PM. If you are normally logged out and gone home by then, your password will need to be changed first thing Thursday morning.

Password Rules:

If you wish to change your password before it expires, please call the Help Desk to have your password reset to the default. Do NOT use the Insight File>Special>Change Password function since it does not work for our IFAS unix passwords.

IFAS PC Requirements

Recommended IFAS PC specifications for PCs that will use IFAS 7i:

PLEASE NOTE! We are not able at this time to support the use of IFAS Insight thru any type of third party PC firewall software. You must disable any firewall software running on your PC before installing or using IFAS!

IFAS Printer Requirements

Minimum IFAS Laser Printer (for IFAS standard and CDD reports).

Caution! Other brands of printers such as Canon (other than the Canon ir5000), Konica, Xerox, etc. are NOT recommended for IFAS standard reports. These other brands of printers have NOT been tested with IFAS, and may not work correctly or require additional equipment (such as an HP JetDirect 300x external print server) for use with IFAS standard reports.

Minimum IFAS Forms Printer (for POs and Invoices).
