State Teacher's Retirement System (STRS)

The regional counseling Office of the State Teachers' Retirement System is a section of the Human Resources Department of the Shasta County Office of Education. The counseling program is sponsored jointly by the California State Teachers Retirement System and the Shasta County Office of Education.

Two part-time counselors, Peggy Fair and Howard Ferguson, provide benefit counseling and information to active and retired State Teachers' Retirement System members and their beneficiaries in 9 counties in Northern California. The counties served through the Shasta County Office of Education are: Butte, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Plumas, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama and Trinity.

All services of regular workshops and interviews are free. No arrangements need be made to attend workshops, but specific workshop locations and individual interview appointments may be obtained by calling (530) 225-0203.
