The state licensing branch (Commission on Teacher Credentialing) charges a fee for this credential.

Substitute Aides

The Shasta County Office of Education Human Resource Services maintains an active list of special education and child development and alternative schools substitute aides for employment with Shasta County Office of Education special programs.

If interested in employment as a substitute aide in a K-12 setting, you can contact this office, individual school districts, or the Substitute Consortium.

Anyone interested in a substitute aide position will be required to submit a completed application packet (available at the Shasta County Schools office Room 11). Special education and alternative school aides must pass the Aide Proficiency Test. T.B. skin test and fingerprinting are required.
