09:18 AM Mar. 19, 2003 PT. The Web Accessibility Standards adopted by CDE are the checkpoints for accessibility established by the WAI. CDE Web developers will comply with Priority 1. Priority 2 checkpoints and Priority 3 checkpoints are recommended standards for improving the quality of the site.
02:00 AM Jan. 21, 2003 PT. Section 508 requires that Federal agencies' electronic and information technology is accessible to people with disabilities. The Center for Information Technology Accommodation (CITA), in the U.S. General Services Administration's Office of Governmentwide Policy, has been charged with the task of educating Federal employees and building the infrastructure necessary to support Section 508 implementation.
