Our website is hosted by Finalsite in Connecticut. It is a content management which means we are responsible for the words, content, and they make it pretty.
We use AudioEye, the little blue icon on the bottom section of the webpage, to assist in our quest for accessibility compliance. We strive for accessibility, not only as it is required by law and enforced by the Office of Civil Rights (OCR), it is simply the right thing to do.
Shasta County Office of Education is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and in doing so adhere to many of the available standards and guidelines.
This website endeavors to conform to level Double-A of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines will help make the web more user friendly for all people.
This site is being updated using code compliant with W3C standards for HTML and CSS. The site will display correctly in current browsers and using standards compliant HTML/CSS code means any future browsers will also display it correctly.
Whilst the Shasta County Office of Education strives to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website.
We are coordinating with AudioEye Inc in working to bring all areas of the site up to the same level of overall web accessibility. In the meantime, should you experience any difficulty in accessing the Shasta County Office of Education website, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 530.225.0279 or webmaster email.
This site includes links to external sites; all that may not have the same commitment as the SCOE to strive to present an accessible web site to all visitors.
Although the Forms Manager and the site use encrypted (HTTPS) connection to securely transmit data, the Forms modules are not HIPAA conforming, so no medical or SSN should ever be collected through these modules.
To bird walk a bit, the credit card information gathered by the Forms & Registration Managers are Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant. User data is captured by our payment gateway, Authorize.net, with limited data actually passed to SCOE for payment processing.
