Shasta SEL Community of Practice

In an effort to share information and improve practice, we are excited to establish a Community of Practice for Social and Emotional Learning. We are seeking to convene teams of educators who want to promote equity and resiliance amongst their staff, students and families and who are ready to lead SEL integration in their school(s). Please consider bringing a leadership team from your school/district. Our goal is to bring educators and practitioners into a working relationship around common interests in Social and Emotional Learning and to:

  • Build your leadership capacity to systematically plan and implement SEL school wide
  • Actively learn and collaborate with your team and others to promote SEL within a multi-tiered system of support
  • Plan and address challenges of integrating inclusive, research-based SEL approaches into school practices and culture

Virtual meetings will be held quarterly on the 1st Thursday of each month from 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm. These meetings are open to all educators and community members and join us to learn about SEL implementation throughout Shasta County.

For more information please contact Kelly Rizzi, Director of School and District Support at krizzi@shastacoe.org or call 530-225-0255
