Schools We Support
The local
Shasta County has seven local SARB Boards whose members may include school district represtatives and coommunity members from community members, law enforcement, Social Services, Probation Services, Mental Health Services, District Attorney’s office, parents.
School attendance is not a matter of choice but is law. When students and parents/guardians do not comply with the law, SARB works as an intermediary to explain the law, the consequences, and identify what measures need to be taken to ensure compliance.
Parents/guardians & student are not required to use the SARB's assistance. If the law continues to be violated, the SARB will take necessary steps to enforce compulsory laws up to and including criminal charges.
Shasta County Office of Education operates the County SARB Board. This Board establishes policy for the Local Boards, as well as providing training for their members and school district personnel. In addition, they conduct the appeals for Local Board decisions. The Board also serves as our community's voice to the California Association of Supervisors of Child Welfare and Attendance (CASCWA).
