About the SCOE Community Schools Initiative
The SCOE Community Schools Initiative (CSI) utilizes the Community School strategy as a school transformation framework to create an environment that supports teaching and learning so that all students succeed.
The Community Schools Initiative is a strategy, not a program; a strategy that brings together all the elements that result in transformed schools, while programs provide steps and/or resources. As a strategy, the Community Schools model provides the themes and elements that have proven successful while encouraging schools to customize their implementation to meet the needs of their communities.
The SCOE Community Schools Initiative is an unprecedented partnership among SCOE, county agencies, school districts, and community-based organizations to improve the academic, emotional and physical well-being of students.
SCOE’s Community Schools Initiative launched in September 2023 and is underway at XX high schools across the county that serve as community hubs for students and their families.
