George Grotefend Scholarship
Application Process is now Open
The George Grotefend Board, following the wishes of George Grotefend in his Trust of 1952, accepts scholarship
applications each year from graduating high school seniors within Shasta County.
The Board was designated by the Trust to choose deserving students who:
Have attended all four years of high school in Shasta County
Will attend higher education in the State of California
Have fully demonstrated financial need

About George Grotefend:
Dr. George Grotefend was a dentist and a member of a prominent Shasta County pioneer family. During his lifetime, he involved himself with ranching and mining in addition to running a very busy dental practice. Upon his death, the bulk of his estate was put into a trust to provide scholarships to deserving high school graduates from Shasta County.
